2024 Wahoos, it’s almost time to get in the water!

We are just one week away from the start of practices! Read on for important info.

Dates for your calendar:

Monday, May 13–Swim and Dive practices begin
Tuesday, May 14–Team suit fitting 4:30-6:30pm
& Parent Meeting/Meet the Coaches 6:30pm immediately following practice
Friday May 24, Monday May 27, Friday, May 31–NO Practices
Monday, June 3–First Swim Meet
Thursday, June 6–First Dive Meet

Practices & Meets

Swim and Dive practices begin on Monday, May 13. Visit the team website for the full practice schedule. Coaches will communicate about whether we will have in-the-water or dry-land practice, depending on water temperature. The meet schedule is also up on the team site, with a little more detail still to come on our Dive meets.

Team Suit Fitting

Virginia Swim Shop will be on-site at Woodmont pool for our team suit fitting on Tuesday, May 14 from 4:30-6:30pm. They will be sizing and placing orders for our team suit and will also have goggles for sale. We will also be selling Wahoos swim caps at the suit fitting and at the first couple of swim meets.

Parent Meeting

The Coaches and the volunteer Aquatics Committee are hosting a Parent Meeting on Tuesday, May 14, at 6:30pm immediately following practices and the suit fitting. This meeting is a great opportunity to get important information about the season and to meet and say hello to our amazing coaches!

Swim Volunteer Requirement

Swim meets are one of the most fun parts of Swim team! It takes A LOT of volunteers to make each meet happen and Woodmont relies on parent volunteers. Swim parents, visit the team site and watch your emails to learn more about volunteer job descriptions and training sessions. There is something for everyone, no matter how much experience you do (or don’t have!) have with competitive swimming.
