The season always flies by—the last regular season swim and dive meets and the awards celebration are coming up this week! Read on below for information and links for coach gifts, the awards celebration, and the optional team outing to Water Country.

Coach Gifts

Every year, we ask for contributions to give our coaches an end-of-season gift, and every year our team families are so generous. We are not able to pay our coaches nearly what they deserve, but these gifts help to show them how much we value their time and their commitment to our kids.

If you can contribute, please Venmo Heidi Thompson @Heidi-Powell-Thompson and put “Coach gift” in the notes, or you can give Heidi cash at the swim meet on Monday night, or give Becky Pritchett cash at the dive meet on on Tuesday.

Thank you in advance. Our coaches work hard for our kids and it is great to be able to give them a gift at the team banquet.

Awards Celebration

We are excited for the Swim & Dive Awards Celebration coming up this Thursday 7/16 from 6-9pm! Remember to RSVP today for the celebration so we have enough cake, and we have also set up a dedicated pizza ordering site (optional if you want to eat dinner at the pool that night) through Papa John’s that makes it easy to order and have dinner delivered to the pool, plus all all tips and 20% of proceeds are returned to our swim and dive team!

• As you proceed with ordering, you will see that it indicates "pickup only;" please disregard, as the pizzas will be delivered by Papa Johns to the pool for distribution, and you can put “Woodmont Pool” for the delivery address if prompted.

Optional Water Country Team Outing

An annual favorite, our optional team outing to Water Country USA will be on Friday, July 24! Wear your team t-shirts!

We know not every family can send an adult with their kid(s) due to work schedules, so start checking with friends now and put a group together or plan a carpool as needed. Every kid going needs to have an adult that is responsible for them, but it can be a friend’s parent or a babysitter, it does not have to be their parent or guardian.

More specific times and details will be coming, but those who want to caravan to Water Country will meet in the pool parking lot in the morning on Friday, July 24 so you arrive at the park at the same time, and a midday meeting point and time in the park will be established for team members who want to meet up for ice cream or lunch.

There is no pressure to attend, this is a fun but completely optional outing after the regular season and Champs have concluded.

And speaking of Champs, watch your emails this week for details about swim/dive Champs including whether your athlete qualified to participate, practice and meet schedules, and Champs meet volunteer requirements.

Finally, it looks like there are still *just a few* more volunteer spots that need to be filled for the final swim meet on Monday. These are untrained roles but every role is critical to making the meets run smoothly!

Thanks to every team family for what has been a great season so far. We are looking forward to all of the fun events and the final meets and Champs, all in the next two weeks!
