Meet #6 Entries & Info

Hello Wahoos!!

Our Final Meet versus Sandston is tomorrow night!  Wow!

We will take a Team Photo at 5:30pm just before our team warm-up, please plan to arrive by 5:15pm

Meet Entries are attached to this email. Warmups are at 5:45pm and the Meet begins at 6:30pm.

We have a Meet Theme: Luau!!  We have leis and decor!  If you have anything at home that you want to wear for the theme please do.  We have invited Sandston to join in the fun!

  • Please keep the main parking available for Sandston to park. The grass risers on the left side of the pool deck is reserved for Sandston Swimmers and families.
  • It has become a tradition at Woodmont to have 100 freestyle Family and Coach relays at our final home meet of the season in the middle of the Meet. We have invited Sandston to participate, too.  Here is our Sign-Up Genius if you are interested: Family and Coach Relays

  • Our Baby Pool is Closed During Swim Meets
  • Our hospitality team will be offering freshly grilled hot dogs, hamburgers, veggie burgers, sides and drinks (cash only), and the Kona Ice truck will be onsite.

Meet #5 Corrections: At Meet #5 we incurred penalties that changed the final outcome of Meet #5 WRA 776-LSRC 784. We were out of compliance with the following rule:3.04 Entrants. We have talked to your amazing children - your Swimmers - about it the mistake and the importance of taking accountability. It was a learning moment for all and while there are penalties that happen during most meets this was bigger, we as coaches will do our best to ensure this does not happen again. This is an area of growth. We are available if you have further questions.

SWIMMERS:

-Get good rest the night before.

-Hydrate really well the day of.

-Come ready to have fun! Your hard work in practice will shine through in your races!

-Avoid sugary food and drink before and during the Meet.

-Keep it positive!

-Remember your good sportsmanship! You practice it everyday, encourage and cheer on your teammates at the Meet!

-What to Bring: towel(s), goggles, swim cap, healthy snacks, team suit, chairs, sharpies, sunscreen, card games and toys (baby pool will be closed), $ for food, WATER!

PARENTS:

-You are an important part of the team! Your support matters!

-Keep it positive especially after races. Help them focus on the effort and help them learn their times as that is where they will be able to see their personal progress. Enjoy this season with your Swimmers, and as their Coaches we will focus on how to help your Swimmer improve and grow throughout the season.

-For both practice and Meets please refrain from sideline coaching. This can be confusing to the Swimmers and inhibit the Coaches from doing their jobs.
